Merging cells command changes

Merging table cells does not work properly in IE: It is only allowed to merge cells horizontaly, possibility to merge cells verticaly is missing. Another bug: Empty cells cannot be merged in the editor.

Place you cursor in the cell you want to merge, right click, scroll to Cells > Cell Properties. Once you have the Cell Properties dialog box you use the Row Span/Colums Span. If you want to merge 3 cells down (including the one you are in) put in 3 amd hit OK. You may have to delete some random cells that show up on the right once you have completed your merge. Works about the same with the columns. Always start with the cell you want included in the merge. (Using FCK 2.3.1)

It would be nice to have this feature on core. Maybe the plugin cade can be reviewed and simplified, adding it to the table handler code.
