Image Mapping Tool

It would be nice to have an imaging mapping tool built in.

Can someone suggest web-based image mapping tool that could work with fckeditor or perhaps speed up this feature to development plan ?

I would very much like to see the posibility to add links on images by using maps (<map><area ... ></map>).

I came across a post on the Open Discussion forums which contained a link to a similar editor that has incorporated this feature. It contains several other nice features as well. I've copied the text of this post for reference.

I realy love the FCKEditor, great work.

I have found an other editor which has solved some problems. Maybe it can help to solve some of the fck (few) problems / shortcomings.

Look for:

• flash objects work in editor area.
• mouse over images.
• anchor links.
• links within an image, (use)map and area
• the possibility to create a ToolbarSet dynamicly.

 http://www.maschek.hu/imagemap of Adam Maschek ( http://devdaweb.blogspot.com/) could be poured into a plugin. The developer himself was planning to do so, but hasn't gotten to that yet.

hack to fck_image to allow basic image map functionality.

known bugs and limitations:

• Limited to max 5 area elements
• When image is deleted (with delete key) map/area elements do not get cleaned up
• Broken in IE - map name attribute does not seem to get added?
